Christoph Plate

Christoph Plate worked as Africa correspondent for German and Swiss media based in Nairobi in the 1990s, covering major events like the US-intervention in Somalia, the Rwandan genocide, the wars in the then Zaire, in Liberia and Sierra Leone. From 2002 he served for ten years as Middle East Editor for the sunday edition of Neue Zuercher Zeitung. Plate is now based in Johannesburg, South Africa as the director of the Subsahara Media Programme of the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
