Fiona Leney started her career at the Foreign Desk of The Independent and worked later for many years as a foreign correspondent in South Africa. As a freelance journalist she published her work in The Financial Times and Sunday Telegraph. Today she works as a freelance book editor, specialising in non-fiction and foreign affairs. Since 2015 Leney is a reader and panellist on the Miles Morland Foundation African Book Prize.
