After studying languages and economic and cultural studies in Passau, Germany, Nicola Steiner worked for the publishing houses Hanser in Munich and Schöffling & Co. in Frankfurt and the magazine Du in Zurich. She has been with Swiss Television since 2007, first as editor of Sternstunde Philosophie, then as member of the literature editorial staff. Since 2014 she has moderated the Literaturclub on SRF1 and conducts discussions for the literature background programme 52 beste Bücher on SRF 2 Kultur. She is also a member of the SWR Best List jury and chairs the Solothurn Literature Prize jury.
